I made Medallion for an exhibition at Galerie Marzee that commemorates jewellery designer Lucy Sarneel (1961-2020).

For this work, a fragile photo medallion constructed from bricks, I was guided by Lucy Sarneel's voice urging me inwardly to explore unknown paths, by her eagerness to experiment and by her involvement in the proces. The (unwearable) medaillon functions as a relic among wearable jewellery, and responds loosely to the use of miniatures in Lucy’s work and to the interplay between the private and the public that was a key feature of her vision on jewellery.
